Lokelani House design concept
These drawings are an attempt to get my ideas for a house design on paper both to visualize them and communicate them to the architect who will create the actual house plans. The things I wanted to achieve in this design are an open, indoor/outdoor environment while being elevated off the ground for cooling, humidity control and the views. I want to keep the costs as low as possible while getting all the usable space we want: generous guest bedroom, studio/office for creative work, an ample kitchen and dining area. Modern standards call for two bathrooms, but to save space I have only one with the bath in a separate room (called a... bathroom). First floor has 9 1/2 foot ceilings, while the upstairs has vaulted ceilings. The large overhangs are typical of houses in this part of the world. This is of course a work in progress… |
