It is on our list of things we could be making ourselves, but that project has not been started yet. Having had the experience of making veggie burgers at the Blossoming Lotus, we know it’s not as easy as it might sound to get the flavor and texture right.

It may not be exciting, adventuresome or even completely home made, but veggie burgers are a welcome and easy-to-prepare addition to the dinner rotation. It’s a kind of comfort food, I guess, so we tend to dress them up with things like caramelized onions and cheese. As a manufactured food, veggie burgers are something we shop carefully for; genetically-modified soy is an ingredient in some brands and we avoid it. It take s a little research because manufacturers don’t want you to know it’s there.
